Catherine MacGregor got second place in the man’s best friend category with this shot.

Every year, the U.K.’s Kennel Club holds a contest looking for the best dog photographers of the year. Participants of all skill levels, ages and locations are welcome to submit pics of their four-legged friends, and this year the organization received a record-breaking amount of entries. Contestants sent in breathtaking pics of dogs at play, dogs at work and even some of the most photogenic puppies ever. Check out our gallery of 19 winning photos that have been trending on Facebook and don’t be surprised if a few “awwws” sneak out.
